Every year at the beginning of the new winter semester, an introductory week with a variety of offers takes place for all first-year students at the IMT.
During this introductory week, you can receive important information about your studies, the course of studies and the organisation at the Lingen campus, and you also have the opportunity to get to know your fellow students and experienced students in advance.
The final programme of the introductory week will be announced in mid-September. Please remember to register for the introductory week under the tab "Maths Pre-Courses".
We offer free maths pre-courses during the introductory week. They are designed to ease the transition from school to university and help those who have been in the workforce for some time. No knowledge from the degree course is anticipated here, but they aim to bring all first-year students up to the same level of knowledge as far as possible.
In the afternoons, there is an open maths tutorial in which practice problems can be calculated together and with the help of qualified tutors from higher semesters. Here, first-semester students get tips for working and learning at the university and can exchange ideas with others.
Due to the presence day on campus, the maths pre-courses for the individual degree programs only take place on the four days you are not on campus. Please remember to register for the maths pre-courses. (studienassistenz-imt@hs-osnabrueck.de)
The registration portal is opened from August 8th to September 12th 2022.
First semester students who have not registered cannot participate in the presence day!
The Faculty of Management, Culture, and Technology offers a placement test in English for all first-year students. The English placement test is used to assess your language level on the basis of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Based on the results, you can register for the English courses offered by the faculty according to your language level.
The placement tests will take place online this year. You will receive more information about this from us by e-mail in mid-September.
