Polymer Engineering in Practical Networks (B.Sc.)
Program structure
Structure of the program
The study of "Plastics Technology in Practical Networks" allows a cooperative engineering education equally borne by companies, the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences and the Oldenburg Chamber of Commerce with two professional qualifications in a short time: In an only 4-year training course, it combines the advanced technical college degree program with a commercial vocational training to be simultaneously completed in an industrial company of the region. Graduates have knowledge which is practically and theoretically sound and insight into the technical and social problems on-site.
The curriculum of this degree program are identical to those of the Plastics Engineering degree program. The simultaneous commercial training in an industrial enterprise, however, requires a different course of studies:
The standard period of study for the dual and modularly-structured Plastics Engineering in Practical Networks Bachelor’s degree program is eight semesters. The study takes place in close interaction with a commercial training. Students complete the first semester on-site at the university.
During the semesters 2 to 5, they complete the training in the company three days a week; on two days, they study at the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences. After the fifth semester, the commercial apprenticeship ends with the skilled worker examination at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
After the 7th semester at the university of applied sciences, the scientific internship semester and the Bachelor thesis are completed in the final semester. The degree program concludes with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) title.
