Wifi on campus (eduroam)
Eduroam
If you use a notebook or smartphone with Wi-Fi, there is free, wireless Internet access at many locations at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences.
The name of the WLAN network is "eduroam". Eduroam (Education Roaming) is a worldwide network of universities and research institutions that enables you to use the Internet with your central user ID.
Admittedly, establishing a connection to eduroam is not that straightforward. For this reason, we have created some setup instructions for you.
Should there still be difficulties with the setup, we will be happy to support you on site:
- Westerberg campus / Caprivicampus (ServiceDesk)
- Campus Haste (IT Center support office)
- Campus Lingen (KG 0107)

You can change the language to English in the upper section.
The following instructions are intended exclusively for
- User of a visitor's WiFi ID
- User of a personalized guest ID
- Functional accounts
- external student assistants

Using Windows 7, 8.1 or 11 please start your "Network and Sharing Center" and get into the instructions at chapter 4.

Mac OS X
Choose ?eduroam“ in your network settings and fill in the data as follows:
- Identity: username@hs
- Password: your password
The connection will be established.
Android
Choose ?eduroam“ in your network settings and fill in the data as follows:
- SSID: eduroam
- Safety: 802.1x EAP
- EAP-method: PEAP or TTLS
- Phase 2-authentification: MSCHAPV2
- CA-certificate: the certificate should not be validated
- Identity: uername@hs
- Password: your password
To finish tap on ?Connect“. The connection will be established.
iOS
Choose ?eduroam“ in your network settings and fill in the data as follows:
- Identity: username@hs
- Password: your password
In the next step you confirm the security certificate. The connection will be established.
Hint: If the possibility to type in username and password is not provided after tapping on ?eduroam“, please try these steps:
- Tap on ?Other (network)...“ and type in ?eduroam“ as SSID.
- ?Safety“ = ?WPA2 enterprise“
- Now you should be able to type in your user data as mentioned above.
- Confirm the security certificate.
- The connection will be established.
