- Mission Statement
As a consequence of global competition the design of clear contracts for the execution of technical projects is vital. Additionally the enormous cost and time pressure makes an effektive project management inevitable. In spite of all precautions variations and claims cannot be completely avoided. This course carries on from the fundamentals of Project Management in the bachelor level and extends to the above mentioned topics. Since most projects are international the module language is english, including the lecture part and the student presentations.

- Learning Outcomes
Knowledge Broadening
The module should successfully deepen the fundamentals of project management. This is achieved by walking through a real technical project step by step. The key words and activities will be mentioned and discussed in the lecture part of the module.
Knowledge Deepening
Project variations and claim management are dealt with in detail. This reveals the necessity of clear contracts. Therefore the typical chapters of a project contract are explained for an engineer to understand without being a lawyer. However, the main ideas of the legal parts will be explained.
The presentations will focuss on specific topics of advanced project management and contract design. This will enhance the participants technical and commercial english knowledge.
Instrumental Skills and Competences
This module is a preparation for project management tasks. Participants should be able to detect and handle project variations and claims.
Communicative Skills and Competences
The participants should be able to communicate in english language within a technical project. Here it must be taken into account that typical technical projects nowadays are of a strong interdisciplinary character. Thus, participants habe to communicate with engineers and scientists of any kind and also with business administrators.
Another important aspect is the ability to give a presentation in front of a critical audience.
K?nnen - systemische Kompetenz
In addition to all above mentioned skills the students will learn to act with a sensitivity towards costs.
