EMotionS

EMotionS is a project aimed at promoting infrastructure at the University of Applied Science in Osnabrück in order to work together with regional supporters (KMUs from the IT, therapy, creative and handcraft sectors, as well as the Theater Osnabrück) and supraregional (Federal Association of Self-employed Physiotherapists, German Orchestral Association, German Society of Music Physiology and Musician Medicine) as well as the participation of proven Lower Saxony (Prof. Dr. Eckart Altenmüller, HS for music, theater and media Hanover) and international (Performing Arts Medicine Association) expertise, to link the topics of motion measurement, pain and emotion analysis. On the basis of strong networking in Lower Saxony, infrastructure funding enables the creation of a future-proof network for the development of products and services in three application areas in particular (with transfer options in other areas):

• Development of appropriate diagnostic and therapy tools (also using new technologies) and transfer of results to the group of individualized physiotherapists who advise and treat musicians
• Transfer of findings to other groups of patients with movement disorders
• Transfer of insights to other occupational groups with a high proportion of movement, e.g. Craftsman

The funding thus creates the basis for attracting relevant third-party funds in the future and carrying out cooperative development projects.
