Aims of the project
Work packages
The achievement of the research goals is determined by a structured approach, which is presented in the following work packages. These represent the course of the project.
Work package 1 includes the preparation of a joint EU application for Horizon Europe and represents the goal of the funding. After the publication of the calls, ideas for projects are generated, which are collected in the form of wikis on the emerging knowledge transfer platform. The wikis are prepared concepts, ideas and results shared on the platform, which - under the moderation of the applicant - can be edited, developed and shared by the consortium for acquisition purposes. As soon as one or more suitable research ideas have been generated, a workshop will be organized at the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences with all potential project participants to develop the concrete project outline. The final proposal will be developed by Prof. Genkova together with the consortium and in close cooperation with the national contact point and submitted by the University of Applied Sciences Osnabrück.
In work package 2, a framework model of the educational success of persons with a migration background will be generated as content-related preliminary work for a successful EU application, as it was outlined in the upper part of this application. The elaboration will be done by the applicant with the support of the consortium in parallel to the generation of the project outline. The researchers will compare previous scientific results on lifeworlds of pupils and students in Europe, translate the results into English and collect them in the knowledge transfer platform so that they can serve as a scientific basis for the application. Based on this extended research as well as the existing results and experience of the participants, a model will be developed that should reflect the educational success of persons with a migration background in Europe as well as possible. The content focus can be placed on the topics of competencies and competence transfer, discrimination and dealing with discrimination, or prejudice and racism in education, depending on the thematic focus of the identified call. Based on the respective call and the framework model, this work package also translates scientific and practical issues into concrete EU project goals.
The acquisition of new cooperation partners takes place in work package 3 through the targeted approach of renowned researchers, the use of consortium building structures (e.g. Era-Net, Horizon Europe) and conferences. The resources of the HS Osnabrück for consortium building and initiation of European research projects are also used, in particular the active role of the HS at FHNet, the EU-University Office, which is in close networking with the NCPs, as well as the membership in the Enterprise Europe Network. Researchers as well as potential transfer partners are selected, approached as specifically as possible and motivated to cooperate. To this end, the project team members contribute to workshops and lectures on the topic, among other things, whereby it is up to the individual members to decide which suitable event formats and facilities will have the greatest effect in attracting transfer partners. In addition, WP3 includes management tasks to densify the network by providing the knowledge transfer platform, correspondence as well as service especially for practice partners who are to be bound to the network.
Work package 4 includes all cross-sectional tasks. The project controlling as well as the project coordination, organization of the project meetings, preparation of factual reports, controlling of the costs in cooperation with the area of third-party funds and meetings with EU advisors regarding the formalities of the planned EU application are taken over by the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences. All project participants involve staff and students in their research activities in order to promote young researchers.
